If you have listened to our nationally syndicated public radio show or our podcast, you may enjoy watching how it is created. This week we interviewed one of the country’s leading nutrition scientists.
Dr. Christopher Gardner is the director of nutrition studies at the Stanford Prevention Research Center and the Rehnborg Farquhar Professor of Medicine at Stanford University.

You can tell by looking at his picture that Dr. Gardner has a lovely sense of humor. He also happens to be a great researcher with an impressive resumé. He has studied the role of soy, garlic and ginkgo biloba in cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment.
Dr. Gardner is best known for his research on various diets: Atkins, Zone, Ornish, Low-Fat, Low-Carb, etc. He has helped create nutrition guidelines for the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association. He appeared in the documentary titled: You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment.
Our most recent interview with Christopher aired on March 16, 2026. We talked about the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans (2025-2030). We also discussed why the “experts” Flipped the Food Pyramid Upside-Down.
Here is a link to the video podcast so you can watch Dr. Gardner, Joe and Terry making the sausage…er Radio show! Christopher will explain his favorite breakfast (without sausage!).
If you care about food, and who doesn’t, you will want to watch our radio show being created before your very eyes. You will also learn about low-fat dairy vs. full-fat dairy.
You will not want to miss our conversation with Dr. Gardner about Nick Norwitz’s Egg Experiment! Dr. Nick received a PhD at Oxford in physiology, anatomy and genetics. He completed his MD degree at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Norwitz ate 24 eggs a day (that’s two cartons of eggs) every day for 30 days. That is 730 eggs in a month! It is equivalent to 133,200 mg of cholesterol. You will want to watch us discuss this experiment and find out Dr. Gardner’s explanation for why Dr. Nick’s LDL-cholesterol came down on this “diet.”
If you care about breakfast, find out Joe’s favorite breakfast and why Dr. Gardner was not impressed. You will also learn what the best diet is for you, especially if you want to lose a few pounds.
