Aloe Vera Gel for Slippier Sex

Q. My husband and I can’t use KY Jelly or any other brand of lubricant we have tried. They make me itch and burn.

We have found, though, that the slimy gel that oozes from aloe leaf when you break off a piece is a very good lubricant. I hope this will add to your uses of aloe vera and help another couple.

A. This is the most unusual sexual lubricant we have ever heard of. On the other hand, aloe vera gel has been used for centuries to help burns heal and ease skin irritation.

Some people drink aloe vera juice as a laxative, a practice we cannot recommend because it can be harsh on the digestive tract.

Test the gel on the inside of your elbow first. Some people develop a contact sensitivity to the latex. If you are not allergic to it, the slippery texture might make it a surprisingly effective sexual lubricant.

Other visitors to this website have offered some unique ideas when it comes to sexual lubricants:

“Don’t overlook “Cornhuskers Lotion” for sexual lubrication — very slick, water based, pleasant fragrance and will absorb into the skin with no aftereffects — use in moderation as a trial. Great on rough skin as well.”

“I vote for the coconut oil. Works great. Much better than commercial products.”

“Try (don’t laugh) extra-virgin olive oil. Use a cotton ball to apply it. Works very well as a lubricant and as a moisturizer, though ‘don’t know how it may or may not affect latex.”

E. G.

“In search of an organic lubricant, I began using olive oil & highly recommend it. It’s nice that it’s ingestible, too.”
