Getting a diagnosis of cancer is an extremely stressful experience. What if, when you got the diagnosis, you were offered the opportunity to learn about meditation and stress reduction through listening to the soothing sounds of Tibetan bowls?

How Healing Sound Helps in the Treatment of Cancer:

Dr. Mitch Gaynor incorporates these relaxation techniques and advice on bolstering the immune system with appropriate nutrition through diet and supplements into his treatment protocols, which include conventional cancer-fighting modalities as well.

Listen to the tone of a quartz crystal bowl and learn how Tibetan bowls can help reduce the stress of a cancer diagnosis. Because stress affects prognosis, stress reduction strategies can be very beneficial. Dr. Gaynor explains how.

I also would like to know where you practice this and is there any literture available.
I live in Melbourne Florida, USA

I am glad to hear you do this. May I ask where you do this?

I teach focused breathing and guided imagery to help people deal with stress at senior and health centers for free. The challenge is getting people to commit to practicing it daily. Some want to come to class but few integrated it in their lives. I am always looking for ways to get people to practice

As a practicing professional musician and pastoral care provider, I have long held that sound and contemplative music have healing qualities. As a chaplain at Mayo Health System in Rochester, MN in the 1980’s it amazed (and frustrated) me that there was no music therapy department in either of the two major hospitals.
When I asked, the short response was, “This is not a reimbursable service from insurances.” (Neither was chaplaincy.) The body-mind-spirit connection is growing in appreciation. The healing qualities extend beyond stress reduction to emotional/relational attachment, life review, and affective expression.
I hope you will include Dr. Gaynor’s work in future shows. As a controlled type 2 diabetic (diet and exercise only) I found his comments about metformin’s multiple benefits interesting as well.
Keep up the great work in preventive health care. Our American health delivery system is lopsidedly tilted towards post-condition treatment.
