Healthy Living Boosts Prostate Cancer Survival

A diet rich in vegetables, fruits, legumes and whole grains, together with regular physical activity, offers men with prostate cancer an advantage. Researchers at UCLA studied more than 2,200 men who had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The men answered detailed questionnaires about their health habits.

Those who followed four or more of the World Cancer Research Fund’s eight recommendations on diet and exercise were 38 percent less likely to have an aggressive prostate tumor. The evidence keeps mounting that regular exercise, along with a diet with less red meat and more low-starch vegetables, improves men’s chances of surviving prostate cancer.
