Teens Star at Safer Sex

According to conventional wisdom adolescents are impulsive and irresponsible about sex whereas older adults are more prudent. A new study has just turned conventional wisdom upside down. Researchers at Indiana University report in the Journal of Sexual Medicine that 70 to 80 percent of male teenagers used condoms in their most recent sexual encounter. Among adults over 40, on the other hand, one fourth as many men used condoms. The survey, funded by the maker of Trojan condoms, involved nearly 6,000 people. The authors conclude that older Americans should be following the good example now being set by teenagers.
