Montmorency cherries are rich in polyphenols. Scientists in England have been studying their ability to help athletes recover more quickly from strenuous exercise. The latest research was conducted with soccer players and published in Nutrients (online July 22, 2016).

    I moved from England to Provence a year ago. This region of France is ‘No GMO, no pesticide’. We now eat seasonally, hardly any beef at all, some bio pork and the amazing local lamb from Sisteron, which grazes on thyme/rosemary. Mostly, we eat a lot of fish and the local olive oil. We buy from local markets, not always bio but close to it and fresh. Goat cheese is local and delicious and the fruit – cherries, strawberries, melons, tomatoes – are out of this world. We only use the supermarket for paper products, washing powder etc. In other words, we don’t eat processed and are not part of the corporate food industry.

    This is why we live here. I’m originally from the US and when I return to visit family, I don’t know what to eat. The children come and are amazed at the taste of food; they can’t believe that the cheese, even in Wholefoods, is nothing like it’s supposed to be.

    Yes, we’re lucky that the farming industry resists and there are people here who are committed to eating healthily. The US has a huge problem and it seems so much harder to stay healthy, which is why this site is so valuable, even here, for me! thanks, Jan

    Hi! I am a senior who, until 4 years ago, had excellent health but presently I am in my 3rd cancer. Two of those are now in remission due to immediate, and I repeat immediate, visits to a specialist in the field of my ailment. My 3rd cancer is poly vera (incurable), which is very rare for a woman.

    I believe in knowing my body, and I am a firm believer of a good diet and low medicine. I have phlebotomies when needed (only source of help) except for a med that I refuse to take (side effects). I always look for information to help me make the right decisions, and I am happy that I found this site. Since my disease comes from my bone marrow, I manufacture too many red blood cells. I take daily baby aspirin and drink at least 50cc of water daily to prevent high clotting, which is the dangerous side effect of this present disease.
