I am 76 years old and have no joint swelling nor pain. I credit this to glucosmine and chondroitin which I have taken daily eight or so years. I have occasionally ceased taking the product and after about 7 days have felt joint pain in knees and fingers coming on and resumed taking the product. My wife and some friends have told me they have the same results as I have.

Maybe the studies that found no benefit from glucosamine and chondroitin used patients with extreme deterioration of joints.

My wife and I have taken glucosamine and chondroitin for several years. I am 79 years old and pain free while taking it. I have stopped taking it for a few weeks and pain returns to my knees and fingers. Perhaps people in trials were too far gone for anything to give them any relief.
