Coffee for a Healthy Heart

Could coffee actually be good for some heart patients? Researchers in Greece studied nearly 400 patients who had suffered heart attacks or had serious heart problems. They found that as long as the patients did not have high blood pressure, two cups of coffee daily seemed to reduce their risk of developing left ventricular systolic dysfunction. This heart pumping problem is a harbinger of congestive heart failure, a potentially devastating heart condition that can eventually cause death. Those patients who regularly drank coffee were 88 percent less likely to develop this serious heart disorder.
