There appears to be good news for female coffee drinkers. Swedish researchers surveyed more than 60,000 women for more than a decade. The women who drank two or more cups of coffee a day had a lower likelihood of developing cancer of the uterine lining. Women who were overweight got the greatest benefit. For them, each extra cup of coffee per day lowered the risk of endometrial cancer by about 12 percent. The investigators caution that their findings need to be confirmed in other populations.

Because so many people must avoid caffeine, these study results need to state if there was any difference noted in the participants who drank decaffeinated coffee versus regular.

PEOPLE'S PHARMACY RESPONSE: SO RIGHT. THE RESEARCHERS SUGGESTED THAT SUCH A STUDY IS ON THEIR AGENDA.
