Q. I have just taken up gin-soaked raisins for arthritis. So far, so good; they seem to be working.

My employer requires random urine testing for drugs and Breathalyzer testing for alcohol. Will this remedy cause a false positive? We are not given the option of a blood test to prove our compliance with their zero tolerance policy. Several employees have been terminated because of the urine/drug test.

A. Make sure you eat your gin-soaked raisins after work, rather than in the morning. It is unlikely that you would fail a Breathalyzer test for alcohol based on nine gin-soaked raisins. Nevertheless, this might be possible if the test were done shortly after you ate them. According to our analysis, there is about a drop of alcohol in nine properly prepared raisins.

Wish it had worked...not for me!

I have been eating the gin-soaked raisins (drunken raisins) for 6 months. It has worked for me... I can walk w/o pain, do low-impact aerobics 3X a week, my plantar faciitis has not reoccurred in 6 months...for A 73 year young woman, who could hardly get out of a chair to walk across a room, had to give up aerobics, and whose feet ached constantly...it has worked for me.

I have been taking the Gin Soaked raisins and also recommended the duo to a friend with bad knees ---we give it an A+. The question I have --in everything that I've read dark raisins should be used instead of the golden raisins---your picture accompanying the article is of golden raisins.

My husband is trying the gin soaked raisins after reading an article in local newspaper. What is the best way to store them after they're soaked? Like a weeks worth?

PEOPLE'S PHARMACY RESPONSE: THEY SHOULD BE STORED IN A CLOSED CONTAINER, PREFERABLY IN THE REFRIGERATOR

What is the exact recipe for the gin-soaked raisins? Do you just pour gin over a pan full of raisins and wait until they soak in and their is no more gin in the pan???
Thanks

Soak them in gin for 2 weeks. Then store them in a closed container in the frig. Eat 9 per day, as per Dr. Oz.
