I was recently prescribed Flovent by my doctor because my insurance company refused to pay for Advair -- even though Advair has worked perfectly for me for many years, and even though the same insurance company has paid for my Advair for the past four years.
Four days after beginning my Flovent regimen, I had severe chest/lung pain with each inhalation. I ended up being airlifted to the nearest medical center with a presumed heart attack. An angiogram, ultrasound, x-rays and many other tests showed no heart problem. I'm totally convinced the switch to Flovent caused the problem. I will never take Flovent again.
