This medication was used by both me and my husband and for both of us our blood pressure dropped in the afternoon to a dangerously low reading 90/50 and we felt light-headed and completely exhausted.

I have been using Benicar 20mg for several years and it does definitely lower BP. My cardiologist likes this pill over other BP pills. I originally began with the 20mg daily dose but felt a bit dizzy at times, so I cut the pills in half and the resulting 10 mg dose also controlled the BP. After several months, I decided to cut the 20mg pills into fourths and the equivalent 5mg dose seems to be working fine in my case. Although the 5mg pill is available, it was the same price as the 20mg, so I continue splitting the 20mg into fourths, thus reducing my drug bill to 25%.
