There’s a lot of hype about superfoods that are said to have near-mystical properties to promote health. Should we be chowing down on blueberries, Swiss chard, pomegranates and pumpkin? Or do we need to concentrate on goji and acai berries and galangal? Get the straight and skinny on superfoods from one of the world's leading nutrition researchers.

Just a quick question. I have avoided fried food for several years. Is it relatively safe to fry vegetables in olive oil? What happens to monosaturated fats and unsaturated fats when the oil is heated to frying temperature?
Re:green tea
Does it have less uric acid than other teas? I have had uric kidney stones and do not need to add more.
Dr. willett's comment that too much flaxseed could be problematic for patient with prostate cancer needs clarification. The person who noted this problem, Charles Meyers, has corrected his stand.
He now states that while there is no benefit shown to flax oil, these studies do show a negative effect. He also states that the whole (ground) flaxseeds may offer some benefit.” Here's the reference.

He's referring to recent pilot studies at Duke University, showing possible anticancer activity of flax seed in prostate cancer patients.
I always listen to your program when I am at home (or on the road) & have rec'd a lot of valuable info.
A relative gave me a bottle of Mona-Vie; one of the ingredients is acai. Are you familiar w/ the M-V? He said that the people he knows who have taken have said it makes them feel better. I have fibromyalgia and "get so tired of feeling tired." However, I'm on a number of meds, and my internist doesn't know anything about the Mona-Vie or the acai ingredient.
