Q. Last year, my triglyceride level was 300. I took no medication (except for a baby aspirin daily), but I did start taking fish oil capsules. I also added nuts and seeds to my diet.

This year when I saw my doctor, my triglyceride level was down to 56. He was amazed, and told me to keep doing what I was doing.

A. Fish oil can be very effective at lowering triglycerides (Pharmacotherapy, May, 2007). Over the last several years, it has become evident that high triglycerides increase the risk of heart disease. Congratulations on lowering yours!

I have been taking Omega 3-6-9 daily for several years. I have very low triglycerides and LDL and high HDL. I also take red yeast rice. It works!!

I've started taking one Omega-3 fish oil capsule per day, 600 mg per capsule. Should I go to a higher mg capsule, or has that strength worked for this site's readers?

I had high LDL and low HDL. I'm now taking flax seed oil (omega 3), red yeast rice, aspirin, folic acid and eat a lot of walnuts (omega 3), almonds and apricots. My HDL levels are now a lot higher and my LDL levels are a lot lower. Has anyone had success with any of these items?

I started taking fish oil and flaxseed oil with Omega 3 and my cholesterol dropped from 300 to 180 and my triglycerides dropped from 700 to 300. It really works.

Question:
I have had a problem with ALL the meds for bone strengthing - major heartburn. A friend told me she has had great success with Boron and her bone density test went from showing loss to normal. Do you have any info on Boron for bones?
