Valerian worked very well for me when I started teaching and had to lecture to classes of 200+. I had always had a phobia about public speaking, and without the valerian the anxiety was overwhelming. I took valerian for the first couple weeks and it took the edge off. After a few weeks, I was able to lecture without taking valerian first.
I have a really hard time speaking in front of people. I will defintely try this. I had recently bought some because I heard it was good for a restful night's sleep. I had to make a call to my child's school about his accomodations and was very nervous about it . I took the Valerian this morning and I was calm, which allowed me to be professional and get my point across without my voice shaking or getting upset. I can't wait to try it the next time I have to give a presentation in front of people. I will post the results and let everyone know if it worked for me. Could be some time before I get the opportunity again.
I have found a couple of Valerian capsules effective for even severe panic attacks/anxiety.
What is Valerian? Where can it be purchased. Is it safe for a child to take rarely?
